Parks
Located near the mouth of Clear Creek in the foothills west of Denver, the City of Golden Parks Division maintains 72 public land sites including 253 acres of parks and 377 acres of open space. These areas include 12 community parks and 4 independent trail systems.

The Parks Division provides dedicated commitment to the Golden community. Our efforts strive to deliver efficient, diversified and adaptable service to conserve a natural foothills urban setting. This year round environment must be fun, safe, clean and usable to provide a quality experience for the park user.

Forestry
The City Forester is responsible for administering the City's right-of-way tree maintenance program, among other duties. Citizens can expect to see tree care operations on busy streets such as Ford, Washington and Jackson as some of the City's older trees are given much needed attention.

These efforts include some removals of hazardous trees in poor condition, trimming of many others and replacements of those removed. This work is all part of a focus on keeping the City's older trees healthy and beautifying our streets.

Golden is the last major stop before climbing to the top of the Continental Divide. Take time to stroll our friendly downtown area where many of the buildings are among the oldest in Colorado. Don't forget those famous brewery tours! Then grab a sandwich and come to one of our parks and enjoy the view of the mountains while your children play. Your time spent in Golden will be well worth the pause during your vacation travels. It's a great place to live or visit!
