The West 3rd area is a residential/industrial subdivision in Golden which is somewhat isolated from the rest of the city. Access to the West 3rd area is limited due to highway locations. To provide a quicker response to this subdivision, a one bay metal structure was built to house an apparatus.
Station 3 was added in the mid-1970s, Engine 3 is located at this Station. In addition, a small office is located within Station 3 to accommodate the Company Officer to prepare reports.
