Economic Development Commission
Contact: Steve Glueck 303-384-8095 EDComm@cityofgolden.net
The Economic Development Commission was established by City Council in June, 1999. After applications were accepted for appointment to the Commission, candidates were interviewed by City Council and eight members were appointed in August, 1999. Members have a broad base of professional and complementary expertise in the fields of financing, advertising, retail, and economic development.
As a starting point for the Commission, the Ordinance contained directives to review and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the City's existing economic development efforts, and to participate in policy discussions and provide recommendations about Business Expansion and Retention (B.E.A.R.).
Additionally, the Commission's duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community. Membership is for staggered four year terms. Any questions related to the work of the Economic Development Commission should be directed to Steve Glueck at 303-384-8095.
If you are interested in applying for a vacancy on the Economic Development Commission, you must be a resident of the City of Golden. A written application (pdf) is turned in to the City Clerk. Personal interviews are conducted by City Council. Appointment is by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority of the City Council.
